Category description

How CoExpys handles Sugar

Refined white sugar is sourced from mills in Guangxi, Yunnan and Guangxi coastal refineries, shipped as full container loads, and consolidated at the port. Refined sugar has a long shelf life and low breakage risk, which makes the main commercial variables the ICUMSA colour grade, the crystallisation and moisture limits, and the vessel nomination that determines the freight rate. We keep the specification on the contract identical to the certificate presented at customs so the licence and the paperwork never disagree.

Every shipment is quoted against a confirmed specification, packed to the format agreed for your channel, and documented so the Cuban side can clear it without guesswork.

Shipment handling

Packing, loading, inspection and clearance

Typical packing

50 kg woven polypropylene bags with a sealed food-grade inner liner, on export pallets with lot identification printed on the bag.

Enquiry units

Bag, tonne, or FCL 20ft / 40ft. Full-container shipment is the normal basis.

Container load

A 20ft container holds approximately 800–1,000 bags depending on the confirmed bag weight and the vessel nomination used for the freight quote.

Inspection focus

ICUMSA colour and polarisation check, moisture test, and verification that bag stitching and lot marking match the mill certificate. Bulk tonnage is confirmed before stuffing is released.

Clearance notes

Phytosanitary certificate, certificate of origin, and the mill quality certificate. Sugar grade and packing stated on the licence must match the contract and the certificate.
